City and County Childcare Committees were established in 2001 under the Office of the Minister for Children with the aim to offer services to parents, such as providing information on local childcare facilities, helping parents find a créche or Montessori school and information on parent networks.

 

City and County Childcare Committees are also a point of contact for childcare providers applying for grant assistance under the National Childcare Investment Programme. Childcare committees offer advice and support on setting up a childcare business; childcare information workshops and training courses.
