The ECCE Scheme Free Preschool year is the government's initiative to offer each child in Ireland one year free attendance to a sessional class or one year subsidized childcare in the situation that a child is already in full time care.

To qualify for this place your child must be between 3yr 3mths & 4yr 6mths on the 1st of September that year.

Childcare.ie have developed this quick calculator to help parents find out which year their child is entitled to.

With places in demand, and allocated largely on a first come first serve basis, you will also be able to use this calculator to submit one request to be delivered to the providers offering places in your area. They will then be able to contact you directly with further information as to availability.
